Essential for the realization of more nature in the Netherlands, both within and outside nature reserves, is the need for a greater connection between humans and nature: the current lack of connection is a challenge that our design aims to provide a solution for.

Our vision revolves around connecting humans and nature and revaluating the current Dutch landscape. Due to climate change and the current sustainability issues, nature is more important than ever.

With the design we want to embrace and emphasize the versatility of nature by creating different spaces that offer their own experience of the folly and the surroundings (for humans and other species). The folly engages in a dialogue with the nearby nature and, as it were, pays homage to the majestic oak at the location. The word 'oak' is related to the Indian term 'igja', which means worship, and therefore our vision is to appreciate the environment, particularly the oak, through the design of the folly.

In our architecture, we strive for a sense of composition and attention to detail, ensuring that form and materialization retain their value. Aspects such as light, space, color, material, and texture are inherent to this.
